4. The purpose of handling personal data
The purpose of the register is to take care of the customer relationship between the register holder and the customer, as well as marketing and communications. The management of the register and the handling of the data can be outsourced to the co-operative partner of the register holder, who has committed to complying with this register description.

5. The data content of the register
The register may contain the following information about the customer:
– Name
– Telephone number
– Address
– E-mail address
– The name and business ID of the organisation
– Contact log

6. Data sources in compliance with the regulations
The register is compiled from the register holder’s customer information system and the visitor tracking tool on the site, publicly available Internet sources and other public sources, both free and payable ones.

7. Passing on of data in compliance with the regulations
The register holder will not pass on the data to outside parties except for the co-operative partner of the register holder mentioned in point 4, unless actions by the Finnish authorities require it to do so.

8. Transferral of data outside the EU or EEA
As a rule, personal data is not transferred outside the European Union or European Economic Area.

9. The principles of the protection of the register
Personal data is kept confidential. The data network and equipment of the register holder and its possible data technology partners, where the register is located, are protected with a firewall and other necessary technical measures.

10. Cookies
Cookies may be used on the pages of the register holder to improve the user experience. A cookie is a text file which is saved on the user’s computer when they visit the web page. It contains information and it is used, amongst other things, to develop marketing and the site. Cookies do not establish the identity of the user. The user can delete cookies from use with the browser settings. The register holder does not guarantee that the site will work correctly after cookies have been deleted.

For sale: a comprehensive Valmet Kajaani PaperLab-24 ASF automatic paper and board laboratory testing system, previously used for production quality control at Metsä Board Tako Board Mill in Tampere, Finland.

The system was commissioned in 2001 and remained in regular production use until 30 April 2021, when Metsä Board changed its laboratory testing system across its mills.

The PaperLab was fully operational when taken out of service. During its production life, the system was regularly maintained, with calibration carried out by Valmet four times per year.

The Tako Board Mill continued production after the PaperLab was taken out of service. Production at the mill ended on 17 June 2025, with production transferred to other Metsä Board mills.

The PaperLab is currently stored in Finland and is available for inspection.

Condition & Operating History

The PaperLab was commissioned in 2001 and used for automatic laboratory testing and production quality control of paperboard at Metsä Board’s Tako Board Mill.

The system remained in regular production use until 30 April 2021.

It was taken out of service as a result of Metsä Board changing its laboratory testing system across its mills, rather than because of a failure or technical problem with this PaperLab.

According to former mill personnel familiar with the equipment, the system was fully operational when taken out of service.

During operation, Valmet carried out calibration four times per year.

The Tako Board Mill itself remained in production until 17 June 2025, when production at the mill ended and production was transferred to other Metsä Board mills.

The PaperLab has been stored since being taken out of service. Due to the storage period, functional testing and calibration are recommended before recommissioning.

Software, License & Documentation

The PaperLab operating environment was upgraded from Windows 8 to Windows 10 after Windows 8 support ended.

Operation of the system requires a valid Valmet software user license.

The previous license was mill-specific and is not transferable to the new owner. The purchaser will therefore need to arrange a new software license and the appropriate agreement directly with Valmet.

Operating and technical manuals are not physically included with the machine. According to information received from the former mill personnel, the necessary Valmet documentation can be obtained in connection with the new software license and appropriate agreement with Valmet.

The purchaser should confirm software licensing, documentation, recommissioning and support arrangements directly with Valmet.
