Peter Brotherhood 3.6 MW Steam Turbine Generator Set
Complete industrial steam turbine generator set originally supplied for power generation and steam extraction service.
The unit consists of a Peter Brotherhood geared extraction steam turbine coupled through a reduction gearbox to a BRUSH synchronous generator.
The turbine-generator set was in normal industrial operation until June 2026 and was taken out of service in very good operating condition.
A comprehensive overhaul was carried out in 2023–2024, making this unit an attractive opportunity for industrial power generation, CHP and steam process applications.
The equipment is currently available for inspection.
Extensive technical documentation, drawings and photographs are available.

Recent Overhaul & Condition – 2023–2024
GENERATOR
The BRUSH generator was included in the 2023 major overhaul and inspection of the complete turbine-generator unit. The generator was inspected and serviced, followed by alignment and vibration measurements as part of the complete rotating machinery train.
Following the overhaul, condition-monitoring measurements performed in January 2024 showed low and stable vibration levels. The generator was classified in Condition Class A, with no indications of developing faults.
STEAM TURBINE
The Peter Brotherhood Frame 13B steam turbine, gearbox and associated valves underwent an extensive overhaul and inspection in 2023. The turbine was dismantled, cleaned and inspected, including the rotor, turbine casing, bearings, valves and other critical components.
Extensive NDT inspections were performed. The turbine rotor magnetic-particle inspection found no defects, and inspections were also carried out on components including the turbine bearings, casing, control and trip-valve components.
The turbine rotor was professionally high-speed balanced by Howden ČKD Compressors up to its nominal operating speed of 9,067 rpm. Final measured bearing-housing vibration levels were 0.282 / 0.277 mm/s RMS, compared with the permissible value of 0.450 mm/s.
Following the overhaul, the complete turbine–gearbox–generator train was returned to operation. Follow-up condition measurements in 2024 classified the turbine, gearbox and generator in Condition Class A.
Extensive overhaul, inspection, NDT, rotor balancing, alignment and condition-monitoring documentation is available upon request.
